Highlights Revisited

Welcome to Newsletter #1

This is the first of what will be a regular newsletter to inform and (hopefully) amuse you and all of your Coral Gables High Class of 1956 classmates. There will be ongoing changes as it is constantly updated, refined and improved. The content will depend greatly on your input. What’s going on in your life? Are you traveling, moving, remodeling, changing your phone number or email address, becoming grandparents or joining a new club or community organization? Are there things of interest going on in your city or your neighborhood? In other words, what are you up to these days? You can submit items for the newsletter by emailing direct to newsletter@Gables56.com Email what you would like to share with us. We will do our best to get it in the next newsletter. The exact time between editions has not been determined, but we should be able to produce a new one every other month… maybe even monthly, depending on how much input we receive. Right now we would like for you to send us your birth date (month and day only) the date of your anniversary (year included), and any other significant dates in your life. We should be able to attach photos you send us, both past and present. In addition to your contributions, there will also be trivia and humor that we hope you will find entertaining. To read the newsletter, simply go to www.Gables56.com and click on “newsletter” as you have just done. You can download it or copy and paste it into a file of your own, or just read it and wait for the next one. We look forward to hearing from you often! Your constructive critiques and suggestions are always most welcome.

See What You've Only Heard About

DVD copies of the "controversial" video taken at our 40th reunion (m.c.'d by Mssrs. Gautier and Davant) are now available to classmates at only $20 each. If you're interested in obtaining a copy, mail your check (made out to Gables High Class of 56) along with where to send the DVD to: Cary Findlay / 244 Shopping Ave/ #175, Sarasota, FL 34237. Proceeds go into our Class of 56 Reunion account, which helps pay for things like this great looking website. Special thanks to Stewart Harnell and his Cinema Concepts company for making the DVD transfer and for handling the shipping. Please allow sufficient time for burning the copies and getting them out to you.

The Cruise

Next April 19th we will be boarding the beautiful cruise ship Century for five glorious nights at sea! It will be fun to get away together and resume the friendships we re-established last year at Key Biscayne. Hopefully we’ll be joined by some alumni who were unable to make the 50th reunion. At www.Gables56.com click on “reunions”. A link will direct you to the cruise company’s website. It tells you all about the ship, where we’re going and the (reasonable) prices. Then click on the “Registration Form” box. Download the form, fill it out and send it to the address provided at the bottom, along with your deposit ($100 per person). You may also call Admiral Travel directly. The sooner you do this, the better chance you will have of getting the kind of accommodations you prefer. Here are the names of some of your classmates who have already signed up (for two each): Bob Adams, John and Pat (Ussery) Brockway, Bob Carter, Cary Findlay, Bill Gautier, Stewart Harnell, Mickey Stefan, Bob and Ruth (Skacil) Valois, Norman (Wasserman) Gelvan, Pat (Yurko) Gainey, Judi (Anderson) Josephs, Andrea (Alu) Martin, Annette (Crofton) Cowart, Deni Kilcoyne, John DeMas, Chuck Thagard. Make your name part of this fast growing list so we can include it in the next newsletter!!
